Maxim Mornev

I am a profesor ayudante doctor at UCM working in the department of Algebra, Geometry and Topology. My research area is number theory, more specifically, Drinfeld modules and shtukas.

Between 2018 and 2026 I was a post-doc with Richard Pink at ETH Zürich, with Maryna Viazovska at EPFL, and with Daniel Macias at ICMAT. I obtained my PhD degree from Universiteit Leiden and Università degli Studi di Milano in 2018 by way of the Erasmus Mundus ALGANT program.

Papers

(with Richard Pink) Weil representations associated to isocrystals over function fields.

(with Richard Pink) Local Kummer theory for Drinfeld modules.

Local monodromy of Drinfeld modules. Compositio Mathematica 160 (2024), no. 11, 2656–2683.

Tate modules of isocrystals and good reduction of Drinfeld modules. Algebra & Number Theory 15 (2021), no. 4, 909–970.

Shtuka cohomology and special values of Goss L-functions.
This is my PhD thesis with minor updates.
